God knows best, always!
Even when we think he’s forgotten about us.
Think he can’t hear our plea for help.
Or having a belief you did something so wrong. Causing you to ask what you’ve done in the past that was so horrible to deserve nothing that you’re asking for now.
The almighty source we call God IS always present in our lives.
The other day my husband Todd, who I often refer to as handyman, and I hit the road to pick up hay bales we need for this winter. Handyman was on the phone with the man getting his address when he mentioned “just south of County Road 1, mile marker ——. I knew then we were headed towards a place we put a purchase agreement on five years ago. We ended up walking away from that deal. The place was in foreclosure with too many issues to resolve in order for us to purchase it. In the end, we reluctantly let go of that dream to find another place.
For a couple years after purchasing where we are right now, I found myself wondering what it would have been like living on that other property. There was so much land with that other place, which I desperately wanted most of all.
As we were driving I recalled all the days I sat crying, asking God what I had done that was so terrible in my life that he wasn’t helping us achieve what I wanted right then. I wanted that land! I wanted to move out the city. I HATED living in town! The only reason I was there in the first place was because it was handyman’s house. I just wanted the peace and quiet of country living again. I wanted all that land to get me away from the people, noise, and confusion I could no longer tolerate coming from city living.
I prayed everyday to acquire that property.
I thought I was working the law of attraction correctly. I had ideas/visions in my head of what I could do with the house and out buildings and how fun it would be to have all that land. I pictured myself already there!! Anddddd……I got nothing. I was irritated. Frustrated that my prayers were going unanswered. I was angry at the bank for making it so hard for us to purchase the property. I blamed everything/everyone around me to why I wasn’t moving to this place.
As we drove, getting near the mile marker, we noticed the place we were going was the exact place we walked away from. We looked at each other as we turned onto the driveway and said “Oh MY GOD!! Realizing at that moment how lucky we were to have backed out of the deal. The place was hideous!! We couldn’t see one thing we liked about it now. Not one. Everything seemed so small!! Yes, small.
Even though we ended up owning a run down place with only ten acres, we actually have access to 150 acres on the side of us plus 30 more on the other side for a total of 190 stress free full of tranquility acreage! I’m happy!! That place only had 30 acres total with a busy road in front of it. I thought the house we have now is small feeling very disappointed in it, but looking at the house we walked away from, it is even smaller!! The out buildings looked like little garden sheds compared to our 100×60 foot shed we have. We could fit all three of those sheds in our one big one.
We laughed feeling utter GRATITUDE that God DID NOT answer our prayers.
Back in 2012 I wrote an article about what we have now. It’s called Visualizing 101. If you’d like to read about it, click the link. https://www.facebook.com/notes/kelli-spencer-love-the-life-you-have/visualizing-101/509813599044946.
TODAY, if you’re in the midst of unanswered prayers instead of feeling bad, thank God and the Angels for looking out for you.
1. No matter what, they have your back.
2. Remember, God FORGIVES us all.
3. If you are finding yourself in a similar place where I was, thinking I’d done something really terrible, either here or in a past life that rendered me underserving of achieving even something small, believe in the power of forgiveness.
4. Know without a doubt, if given enough time for them to work their magic, believing you do deserve what you want, God and the Angels WILL deliver the circumstances in which to obtain everything you want.
The catch??? To remember what you want may not always look like what you wanted. At first. 🙂
As I leave you, wishing you blessing of God’s love and the ability to feel gratitude, below is Garth Brook’s “Unanswered Prayers”
